Paperwhite narcisuss flowers grow from medium sized bulbs. They are a Christmas time traditional house plant. They have an intense fragrance which some find overpowering (I think they smell like rotting meat!).

Amarylis flowers, huge white and red striped blossoms are a traditional cultivated flower given as Christmas gifts. I took this photograph in my livingroom. I grow these in my greenhouse in Phippsburg, Maine, cultured hothouse flower
