  • It was 88 degrees the day this photo was taken; hot for Maine. The birds were enjoying a bath in water from a lawn sprinkler. House Finch, male cavorting with Cedar Waxwings in lawn sprinkler puddles on hot, summer day, Phippsburg, Maine. It has been record breaking hot this past week. The day this photo was taken it was 88 and had not rained in over a week. The birds enjoyed this bath for less than 10 minutes.
