  • Bladderwort, Utricularia macrorhiza is a carnivorous wildflower. The flowers are less than 1/4 across. It does not have terrestrial roots. The roots are the star shaped structure below the yellow flowers. They float. This indigenous wildflower lives in still, fresh water in Phippsburg, Maine. This photo was taken at Winnegance Lake.
