Johnny Jump Ups close up, a reseeding hardy annual viola in blues, purples and yellows. This tough little flower is one of the very first and very last flowers to bloom in my coastal, Phippsburg Maine garden. They volunteer readily amongst other plants making surprising combinations. In the first weeks of April, they bloom, or as I like to say "Johnny Jumps UP!"
