Tamarisk is a lovely, delicate pink flowering small tree. It is hardy in coastal Maine and very tolerant of salt. This makes it a great shore front plant. In some states it is regarded as invasive.
Datura is a reseeding annual in Agricultural zone 5, Phippsburg, Maine. It makes a splendid specimen plant. Colors of the flowers range from white through dark lavender. It is poisonous. In some places it's hallucinogenic properties make it a reveared plant. It is called Sacred Datura and Angel's Trumpet. This is a seed pod.
